MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio -

A Mahoning County Grand Jury indicted three men Thursday in connection to charges saying they recklessly operated and stored hazardous waste inside a Sebring facility.

Samual Hopper and Brian Hopper of Sebring and Richard Sickelsmith of Washingtonville were indicted along with their company Sebring Industrial Plating on three hazardous waste charges.

Sickelsmith formerly owned the plant. The Hopper brothers now operate the facility.

Sebring Industrial Plating Company was found storing more than 38,000 pounds of hazardous waste by the EPA.

Some of the waste included cadmium which can cause cancer, hydrochloride acids which are highly corrosive and chromium which, among other things, can cause a weakened immune system or death.
