YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A new collaboration in Youngstown between different community organizations is underway.

The Community Leaders Coalition held its second meeting Tuesday evening.

The goal is for the groups to band together and help one another with various projects across the city.

ACTION, Youngstown Police and the Youngstown City School District are just some of the organizations included in the coalition.

"THE IDEA THAT I HAD WAS TO JUST BRING THEM ALL TOGETHER UNDER ONE ROOF SO THEY CAN SEE ONE ANOTHER. A LOT OF TIMES THEY'RE WORKING ON DIFFERENT PROJECTS OR THE SAME PROJECT, AND WITH THE DIFFERENT PROJECTS, THEY MIGHT HAVE A PIECE THAT'S MISSING THAT SOMEBODY ELSE HAS. IF YOU'RE WORKING ON THE SAME EXACT THING, WHY NOT DO IT TOGETHER AND MAKE IT A STRONGER GROUP?" said Malik Mostella, Youngstown Police Department Community Liason.

Mostella hopes more meetings can attract other community groups to join in and help out.

He says if you're interested to call the police department to get involved.
