EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - Nine businesses in East Liverpool participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, Aug. 6 at 3:00 p.m.

In the past 17 months, these nine businesses have opened in the area, but could not host ribbon cutting ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, Aug. 6, the city held one big ceremony for all of them.

The nine businesses that took part are On Demand Counseling, Renovatio's Taproom and Restaurant, Orchard Grove Originals, Nana's Primitives, Vintage Nook, Needless Things, Darlene's, Tri County Cab, and Clothing Boutique.

Paula Hissom opened Nana's Primitives in November of 2020 with her cousin Courtney Hissom. Paula says she feels privileged for her business to be a part of this ceremony.

"I feel privleged. We're trying to get the word out," Paula Hissom said.

The ceremony will take place at Renovatio's and guests are encouraged to stay after the ceremony for the city's monthly First Friday event starting at 6:00 p.m. which will feature live music, food and other vendors in the streets.
