NEW WATERFORD, Ohio - For the 13th year in a row,  the Abundant Life Fellowship church in New Waterford, Ohio is sponsoring the annual August Overflow event.

The church will be distributing school supplies, clothing, food and more to the community on Saturday, Aug. 7 from noon to 4:00 p.m.

After a limited drive in 2020 due to the pandemic, the 2021 drive will return to full on-site activities including a bounce house, games, a barrel train ride and in-house dining. However, the Red Cross blood drive will be absent this year because the agency was not available for that day.

Families can register for school supplies on a first come, first served basis and students will be given tickets to select the items they need.

Parents are asked to bring the student's most recent report card and a driver's license to show proof of residency. Students themselves are not required to attend.

In addition to the church itself, the event is also being funded this year by Columbiana Community Foundation, NDC Heating and Cooling of New Waterford, Graft Electric of Columbiana, Family Care Services of Columbiana, East Palestine and Leetona and A Plus Powder Coaters of Columbiana.

Senior Pastor Jeff Schoch started August Overflow in 2009 after combining multiple ideas given to him by various members of the church.

"All those ideas came together to create August Overflow. Here we are 13 years later still able to reach out thanks to the generosity of our amazing volunteers and donors," Schoch said.
