NEW YORK - Shares of Lordstown Motors are part of the diverse portfolio of the third-largest pension fund in the United States.

According to a Securities and Exchange filing, the New York State Common Retirement Fund portfolio includes 96,000 shares of Lordstown Motors’ RIDE common stock, valued at $1,062,000.

The Lordstown stock represents only a fraction of the pension fund’s portfolio, valued at nearly $97 billion, and includes stocks from more than 3,600 companies.

The pension fund, which provides retirement security for more than one million New York State employees, retirees, and beneficiaries, has a diverse portfolio that includes other electric vehicle companies, including Tesla, Workhorse, Xpeng, NIO, GM, Ford, and Nikola.
