Thursday's Scrappers vs. West Virginia baseball game from Eastwood Field in Niles has been canceled in accordance with MLB Draft League health and safety protocols, as "testing and contact tracing of members of both teams" are conducted.

Following an over one-hour weather delay, the team made the announcement on Twitter.

The two teams were initially scheduled to play a three-game series at West Virginia last week, but ongoing testing and contact tracing in both teams halted that series altogether.

As a result, the MLB Draft League amended the Scrapper's final four games of the season to host West Virginia instead of welcoming the Trenton Thunder to close out the season. The move was made on Tuesday, with the league hoping to minimize travel and "control the environment and minimize risk as it pertains to the current state of Covid-19."

The Scrappers also Tweeted all tickets for Tuesday's contest can be used for an equal value ticket for Friday's game (8/13/21) or any 2022 Scrappers home game.
