VIENNA TWP., Ohio - A car ended up in a pond Thursday evening in Vienna Township.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. on Niles Vienna Road, near Smith Stewart Road.

Officials say that due to the heavy rain, the pond overflowed onto the road.

The vehicle is believed to have hit the water in the road too fast, causing the driver to lose control and ultimately end up completely submerged in the pond.

The driver was able to put the window down and escape uninjured.

A dive team was called to the scene to pull the car out of the pond.
