WARREN, Ohio -  A Warren man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly shooting cat that was being fed by a child in the neighborhood.

Mark McCracken, 62, was booked into the Trumbull County Jail Saturday night on charges of discharging firearms, resisting arrest, and killing animals.

Officers arrived at a Front Street SW home to find a little girl crying “he killed my cat!”

The woman who called police told the officers that the cat didn’t belong to her child, but the girl was feeding it a hot dog when McCracken allegedly shot the cat with a 22 caliber rifle, then threw the cat into the woods.

Police say when they found McCracken hiding under a table, he ran to the upstairs of a home until a neighbor talked him into surrendering to police.
