PennDOT releases virtual plans display for Sharon Gateway Project

SHARON, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is inviting the public to the virtual plans display for the Sharon Gateway Project on Route 62 in Sharon.
The display will be held online only until Tuesday, Oct. 12 and will include digital picture boards, as well as a comment form viewers can fill out.
Those unable to access the study online can give feedback by contacting PennDOT Project Manager, Lyndsie DeVito at ldevito@pa.gov or at 814-678-7174. Viewers can request the display in alternative languages through DeVito as well.
Included in the project is the portion of Route 62 between the intersection with State Line Rd. the intersection with Addison Ave. Improvement include signal upgrades, landscaping, curbing and gateway signs.
Signal upgrades are planned for the intersection of Addison Ave, Thomas Ave, South Irvene Ave. and Route 62, as well as the intersection of South Irvene Ave. and Stateline Rd. / Emanuel Pl.
During portions of the proposed work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and no detours are anticipated. Work is expected to occur throughout the 2022 construction season.
The purpose of the display is to introduce the project and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project.
It also acts as an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project's potential effect upon Cultural Resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the Natural Historic Preservation Act.
This project is funded through the Federal Highway Administration's Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) program and is sponsored by the city of Sharon.
