For many, the most wonderful time of the year involves sitting at the dinner table with your loved ones and enjoying that perfectly prepared holiday meal.

Due to supply chain issues and the pandemic, 21 News spoke with local grocers on whether or not we could expect a shortage of holiday shopping supplies this year.

"I do not think we're gonna have the issue," said Brian Gorup, Cornersburg Sparkle Market store manager. "In fact, I have a lot on my front wall of the yams, the cranberry sauce, I'm able to get all these items in," he said.

For those looking forward to those tasty holiday favorites, you should be able to find all you can gobble at your local grocery stores.

"There will be limited availability on sizes, specific sizes, but as far as turkeys as a hole, we will not be short," said Joe Richards, Rulli Brothers store manager.

Although grocers are not expecting any shortages, they tell 21 News it would still be wise to be proactive with your holiday shopping this year.

"If you see it, I would buy it now because who knows what's gonna happen a month from now by Thanksgiving time or Christmas time," Gorup said.

"I do, I do suggest shopping early because you can never forecast the future," Richards said.

For now, all the meats, cranberry sauces and gravies should be there when you go to shop for them and as for those turkey price points, grocers say they'll be similar to last year's.
