Tedesco wins Campbell mayor seat after close election result is certified

Bryan Tedesco will officially become the mayor Campbell, Ohio after the Mahoning County Board of Elections certified results of last month's election early Tuesday morning.
Tedesco knocked off the incumbent, Mayor Nick Phillips, by a narrow margin on election night. Phillips received 49% of the town's votes compared to Tedesco who received 51%. A deeper look at the numbers showed that the race was decided by a mere 24 votes. Tedesco's name was on 872 ballots and Phillips' appeared on 848.
Phillips was in the early lead on election day after absentee ballots and early votes leaned in his favor. That lead dissolved after more votes were counted that evening.
When all was said and done, Tedesco overtook the lead once all polling precincts had reported results.
Phillips is finishing his first term as Campbell's mayor.
