FAA investigating Pine Township plane crash Friday

PINE TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - The Federal Aviation Administration will begin an investigation after a single-engine plane crashed into a wooded area in Pine Township leaving one person dead and another injured on Wednesday evening.
Investigators from the FAA will report to the crash-site early Friday morning to survey the scene.
The Mercer County Coroner's Office said that it may take one or two months to determine the identity of the person who was killed in the accident because of the body's condition. While the coroner could not confirm, the person is not believed to be a local resident to the area of the crash.

There are no updates on the injured plane passenger. They were Life-Flighted from the area and were in critical condition.
The plane came down in the woods by TCI Park Drive in Pennsylvania, just outside of Grove City. It immediately caught on fire.
Pennsylvania State Police said the accident happened around 5:40 p.m. Youngstown Air Traffic Control actively reported the plane was going down at the time of the incident.
