A local attorney and former state senator is putting his name on the ballot for Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge.

Sean O'Brien is looking to take over Judge Wyatt McKay's position.

McKay is not eligible to run again because of age limits set for judges.

O'Brien says he's been doing this for a long time and feels this is the next logical move in his career.

He previously served as a prosecutor before moving into the Ohio House of Representatives from 2011-2016. He then moved into the Ohio Senate from 2017-2020.

O'Brien will be on the ballot in May against Former Assistant Mahoning County Prosecutor Dawn Cantalamessa.
