The Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown find themselves recipients of a $3,500 donation from a Valley business that will fund after school programs for children.

Jim Bird, CEO of the Youngstown Boys and Girls club had pleasant feelings about the donation and what opportunities it will give kids.

“Imagine my surprise when we got the call from Steve [Rotunno] at Hubbard Chevrolet telling us that we were chosen as their year-end charity,” Bird said. “Every day, kids come through our doors with a variety of needs. Greenwood’s gift will help us meet those needs. We are so grateful for the generosity they have shown us.”

Bird, along with some of the children who attend the club, accepted the donation at their facility.

“It’s really important that we support organizations like this,” said Steve Rotunno, New Car Manager at Greenwood’s Hubbard Chevrolet. “The Boys and Girls Club does so much to help kids right here in the Valley, so making a donation to support them was a no-brainer. A huge thank you to the Chevy All-Stars as well for allowing us the opportunity to support great organizations like this.”

The Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown said their mission is to inspire and empower young people who are most in need to fulfill their potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
