NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Students and teachers in the Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools have returned to remote learning for the next two weeks.

School officials have announced that due to increasing COVID-19 numbers, all K through 12TH-grade students will learn remotely beginning Friday, January 7, 2022.

The systems COVID-19 dashboard says there are currently four positive cases among students and one staff member.  A total of eight students and staff members are under quarantine.

The remote period will last approximately two weeks, with students returning to in-person learning on Monday, January 24th, according to a posting on the district’s website.

There will be no athletic events taking place during this time, including practices

Students will log into Google Classroom to complete all assignments on Friday. There is no school for students on January 10.

Beginning on Tuesday, January 11th, students will follow their purple schedules and Zoom with teachers for each class period. Period-by-period attendance will be taken by each teacher on the purple schedule, according to school officials.

Students are urged to check their school emails regularly.
