A New Middletown man is claiming the village is targeting him after snow plows blocked him in his garage after this week's winter storm.

The garage is just feet away from a village owned parking lot and it's why he believes he's being singled out.

Alex Knappenberger believes New Middletown village deliberately blocked his vehicles in his garage after they plowed an abandoned lot that is owned by the village.

In surveillance video, you can see the plow truck pushing the snow closer to Knappenberger's garage which is just behind the lot. Knappenberger says he owns about four feet of the area, but the remainder of the lot the village is looking to turn into a park.

Knappenberger has several vehicles he keeps both in and out of his garage, all of them fully functioning -- so they come and go.

After receiving citations totaling more than a thousand dollars for his vehicles he fought the village in court and won. Knappenberger believes that's also motivation behind the village blocking him in.

To remedy the situation, there's a signed court agreement saying Knappenberger's vehicle plates and registration have to stay up to date and off of village property. Knappenberger feels the agreement should have been enough to keep peace between both parties.

New Middletown officials responded with this statement in part: "New Middletown plows all of the alleys and streets in the village in the same manner...the street department pushes one half of the accumulated snow to each side of the street or alley. Invariably, that pushes snow to the end of each driveway...and each individual property owner is responsible for clearing her or his individual driveway. "

Basically saying, this is how they plow all over the Village and that the village is in no way targeting Knappenberger.
