WARREN, Ohio - A woman was arrested in Warren on Tuesday with charges regarding to the neglect of several cats that were found in her home.

Thirty-six-year-old Corvette Brown was sentenced to 10 days in jail followed by five years of probation. Brown is not permitted to live with or own any animals during her probation period and is not allowed to own any companion animals indefinitely.

Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County CEO, Lori Shandor tells 21 News that the Welfare League received a call regarding several abandoned cats in a home.

Shandor described the home as "deplorable," stating that there was debris throughout the house, as well as beer and soda cans, trash, empty litter and cat food containers all throughout the house. 

Shandor described the cats in the home as severely underweight, and added that there were also remnants of deceased cats found in the home.

All living cats in the home were rescued and taken to a vet, where they were diagnosed with dehydration, malnourishment, matting of the hair and flea infestation.

Brown was determined to be the owner of the cats. She was found guilty in Warren Municipal Court on Tuesday and is charged with Cruelty to Animals and Abandoning Animals.
