FOWLER TWP., Ohio - One person had to be taken to the hospital after their Jeep crashed into a semi truck, a collision that shut down traffic in Fowler Township Tuesday night.

A 911 call summary says the semi truck driver contacted first responders. The driver said they were backing the semi into a driveway on Youngstown Kingsville Road NE near Wilson Sharpsville Road when the Jeep hit the truck's trailer.

The caller said the Jeep's driver was swung into the passenger seat after it crashed, according to reports. Dispatchers said the Jeep's driver was talking and responsive.

Northbound traffic on the road was temporarily blocked between 8:45 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. before it continued.

Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived and transported the Jeep's driver to St. Elizabeth's to undergo treatment. Patrol officers did not know the person's condition Wednesday afternoon.
