HUBBARD, Ohio - Hubbard Township Trustees voted to approve two ideas for usage of the city's ARP funds at a meeting Monday evening.

The first idea approved was a PA system and video streaming for town hall meetings. Trustee Rick Hernandez told 21 News that the funding for this project is not to exceed $5,200.

Hernandez tells us that this is a way to make all attendees at town hall meetings able to hear what is going on during the meeting.

Additionally, there will be a wireless microphone for audience members to ask questions and still be heard clearly.

Hernandez says that live streaming will not come right away, as the township is currently looking into a platform to live stream on and how the streaming will work. Once implemented, all meetings will be streamed online live.

The second idea approved was a new mower, loader and tractor for the street department to replace its old, outdated equipment.

Hernandez tells 21 News that tree overgrowth is a major problem on certain roadways throughout Hubbard, namely near the school. This new equipment would make removal of excess branches much more efficient.

The township will be spending a total of $108,000 on this new equipment.

More ideas are currently on the board but were noted voted on at Monday's meeting, as trustees are currently looking into these ideas further.
