Jack Kravitz sells delicatessen business to new Hubbard owner

The man who has carried on an 83-year family tradition of providing the Valley with Jewish delicatessen foods is turning over the reins to another owner.
Jack Kravitz, the operator of Kravitz Deli announced on 21 WFMJ Today that as of Wednesday the business will be run by Matthew Rydarowicz of Hubbard.
Kravitz Deli was established in 1939 by Rose Kravitz on Youngstown’s North Side selling kosher meats to families heading home from Temple.
In 1970 the deli moved to its current location at 3135 Belmont Ave. in Liberty Township where it evolved into a restaurant and bakery.
Rose's son, Jack, Kravitz Deli has been running things at the oldest deli in the Youngstown area, opening new locations inside the Garden Cafe at Mill Creek Park, and expanding into full-service catering with its Inspired Catering by Kravitz.
Kravitz says he isn’t retiring but says the sale of his businesses to Rydarowicz is a new beginning for the business.
However, Kravitz says the name of the business will stay the same. “A different person will be in the driver’s seat,” said Kravitz. “I’ll still be in town to consult.”
Kravitz says his children are no longer in town and it is just time to change.
