The Animal Welfare League is asking for donations to help care for 31 cats rescued from a home in Trumbull County over the weekend.

According to the league’s Facebook page, a humane agent found the cats at a Kinsman home on Saturday.

Most of the cats were suffering from upper respiratory infections, with several kittens having their eyes completely matted shut.

The cats and kittens were signed over to AWL and were transported 31 cats to the league’s shelter.

AWL says its staff provided the cats with warm compresses on their eyes, as well as medication and treatment for extensive flea infestation.

The social media post says in addition to the cost of food, medicine, and housing the cats, four AWL staff members worked overtime to make sure the animals were comfortable.
