Team Black for The Sharon Tiger Techs received First Place in Core Values, First Place with their Pit Design, and 13th Place with their Robot Performance at the FIRST LEGO League Razorback Open Invitational at the University of Arkansas. 

The Techs competed against 80 teams from around the United States and the World. The Sharon team competed in five rounds of robot games and had judged in robot design, project innovation, and Core Values.  After three days of competition, the Techs. The team qualified to attend this event after being first place champions at the Erie First Lego League Championship back in January.

The Sharon tech coach, Dave Tomko, received the Hall of Fame Award for coaching. 

Over the past 10 months, the team has designed, built, and programmed a LEGO EV3 Mindstorm robot to compete on a thematic playing field.   

The robotics teams are part of the FIRST LEGO League organization. FIRST stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.”  They are under the leadership of Dave Tomko and Kelly Roys.
