It's been 37 years since the most prolific and deadly tornado outbreak this part of the country has ever seen.
On May 31, 1985, 41 tornadoes tore through southern Ontario, New York, and parts of our Ohio and Pennsylvania.
An F5 twister ripped through a part of the Valley leaving a path of death and destruction in its wake. The hardest hit areas were Newton Falls, Niles, Hubbard and Wheatland.
Twelve people died in Trumbull County, eight lost their lives in Mercer county and more than 500 others were injured.
Property damage was estimated at 140 million dollars.
