Boardman High School seniors design hall pass app for upcoming school year

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Twelve Boardman High School students designed a hall pass app that will replace the school's current hall pass system at the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year.
The app scans the student's name and current time. Then, the student selects where they are going and the app sends all details to the teacher.
Antonio Jacobson, a senior at Boardman High School, helped design the app.
"Students either weren't putting information or were lying about information or they would be out for too long," Jacobson said. "This kind of helps both the student and the teacher in those situations."
The administration helped the students kickstart the idea after they realized students weren't writing the correct information and teachers didn't know where students were or how long they were gone.
