YOUNGSTOWN -  A suspect who was arrested in connection with what police described as a "targeted shooting" at a gas station on Youngstown’s South Side is scheduled for a 1 p.m. Monday arraignment on a murder charge in Municipal Court.

Samuel Byrd, 68, was arrested late Friday at the Boardman Inn by city police, State Troopers, and agents from the Mahoning Valley Critical Response Team and the Violent Crimes Task Force.

Police say their investigation led to the discovery of two guns one day after Byrd's arrest.

Police say the arrest is in connection with the Wednesday shooting of 29-year-old Keimone Black that occurred just after 3 a.m. at the Shell station on South Avenue, just south of I-680.

According to police, Black was shot several times and died from his wounds.

The victim was on the ground next to a white Lincoln SUV that had numerous bullet holes, according to investigators.
