A Youngstown man who is already in prison has been sentenced after investigators say he abused a two-month-old child.

Weylin Jennings Scott, 43, pleaded guilty this week to one count of child endangering. A second count was dropped as part of a plea bargain.

Scott was immediately sentenced to two years in prison to run concurrently with the six-year sentence handed down for his conviction on charges of robbery, breaking and entering, and receiving stolen property.

According to the indictment, Scott seriously harmed the baby boy last year while he was out of prison on parole.

Scott was returned to the Lake Erie Correctional Institution in October for a probation violation.

Prosecutors say the child has since recovered from his injuries.
