OSHA is aware of several incidents of concern that have happened at the new Ultium Cells Battery plant in Lordstown.

People who have loved ones working inside are worried and want OSHA to investigate safety concerns after two more people were taken to a hospital from the plant today.

Public records from 911 dispatch show this morning a 19 year old man was  transported from Ultium Cells to a hospital after an electrical shock, and is in stable condition.

And another worker was transported to a hospital after having complaints related to possible chemical exposure over the weekend at the plant.

"But a spokesperson for Ultium Cells Brooke Waid said, "There are no employees being treated for work related injuries for the weekend concern."

Over the weekend there was a 911 call for urgent need for multiple personnel and exposure to an unknown substance, workers complained of symptoms including chest tightness and  breathing difficulties.

This weekend Ultium Cells said employees were transported to a hospital while others were treated at an in house medical site and had family members pick them up.

Today the spokesperson for Ultium Cells explained some employees expressed concern of a possible airborne chemical exposure.

"Air samples were taken in the area of concern with a certified meter, and all tests were at safe levels. No chemical exposure occurred at our facility," Ultium Cells Communications Brooke Waid said.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration, or OSHA has already opened an investigation into a July 9th injury at the plant.

Ultium explained a contractor was caught between a moving car and a fixed column during a machine commission process.

We have reached out to the company to find out if  that worker lived or died and have not received a comment yet.

The entire statement from Ultium Cells Communications from July 25th, 2022 is below.

During a scheduled production shift in the plant, employees expressed concern of a possible airborne chemical exposure.
