A Pittsburgh-based coffee vendor will be setting up shop this fall in Grove City College's newly-renovated Henry Buhl Library.

Urban Trail Coffee Company will open up in the Buhl Library's Collier Cafe area, a new space created as part of the library's $9 million makeover. The cafe opens onto a new patio where students can enjoy their coffee.

"The cafe is one of the highlights of the renovation, which is intended to improve the library's ability to serve students and be a destination, as well as a resource. A place that draws the campus community together," said the college's Vice President of Operations, Susan Grimm.

Company founders Tana and Justin Mitchell are excited about the new location and serving students, staff, and faculty.

"Urban Trail Coffee Co. aspires to bring a new coffee experience to the Grove City Community by providing a welcoming and convenient place for guests to slow down, take a break from the demands of life, savor a special moment, and re-fuel their day," Justin said.

Urban Trail was founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and saw success with customers wary of indoor dining turning to their coffee trailers, which traveled around the region.

The company also offers an online store which can be accessed here. This location will be the company's first brick-and-mortar outlet.

"It's a big move for Urban Trail Coffee, and we're so excited to be making it in partnership with Grove City College," Tana said.

The Mitchells expect to hire a manager and some student baristas in the cafe and are currently recruiting student hires.

The outpost expects to hold its grand opening at the library from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on August 26.
