COLUMBIANA, Ohio -  The Valley’s newest and perhaps also the oldest venue is now taking reservations for weddings, private events, corporate meetings, or even casual get-togethers.

The Barn at Firestone Farms is a 142-year-old structure in Columbiana that has been transformed into a destination described as having a “rustic down-home vibe with a touch of elegance.”

Work has been taking place at 1501 Eisenhower Blvd., and the banquet and event center will be ready for guests beginning in June.

Not a bit of space has been wasted during the renovation of the barn, whose roof displays the number 1880, the year the original building was raised.

Visitors can dine in a spacious hall that shows off the original wooden beams and offers a view overlooking the water.

Above the main floor, there’s a renovated loft for cozy seating.

Below the main floor, the building’s stone foundation has been converted into a room that features a bar with places to relax.
