Cusick steps down as Crestview football coach

After 24 seasons, 17 playoff appearances and 11 league titles, Crestview football coach Paul Cusick is stepping down as head coach November 17th.
"We recognize how extraordinary it is to have such a long standing coach, said Superintendent Dan Hill.
Cusick leaves the program with a record of 177-86. He led the Rebels the regionals three times and was honored as Coach of the Year 14 times.
"It was time and gives me a chance to spend more time with the family," said Cusick.
"Sometimes you need a break and get burned out and the last four years has been chaos with all the stuff going and it just felt like the right time to step away," he continued.
Cusick will continue as the school's athletic director and according to Superintendent Hill will be part of the committee that selects the next head coach.
Hill said they'll post the job internally for 10 days and then to the outside.
The Rebels hope to have their new coach named in January.
