Youngstown State University plays at Missouri State University this Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in Springfield, Missouri.  However, WBCB will not televise the game as usual because it's the Missouri Valley Football Conference “Game of the Week.”  In accordance with conference rules, the game is exclusive to ESPN3 and can not air on any other outlets.

YSU (6-3, 4-2 MVFC) is on a four-game winning streak after a last-second 19-17 comeback win at Illinois State on Saturday.  Meanwhile, Missouri State (3-6, 1-5) lost at South Dakota, 20-13.

YSU is guided by head coach Doug Phillips who is in his third season.  Missouri State head coach Bobby Petrino is in his third season with the Bears.

The series between the two teams kicked off in 1996, with YSU holding a commanding 16-6 advantage.  Last season, the Penguins upset MSU, 41-33, at Stambaugh Stadium.

YSU RB Jaleel McLaughlin continues to lead the MVFC in rushing by a wide margin.  The senior is averaging a conference-best 141.9 yards per game and is tied for second in the MVFC with 12 touchdowns.  His 1277 rushing yards places him third among NCAA FCS runners.  As a team, the Penguins are second in the MVFC, rushing for 206.2 yards per contest.
