Lisbon welcomed folks to shop small business Saturday at its historic downtown around Courthouse Square.

This year it offered a skating rink and shop opportunities.

Vendors set up shop with hand crafted holiday decorations, clothing, jewelry and more to fill your wish lists for the upcoming holidays.  Vendors like Plink Company Express Learning puzzles offered educational toys and games for your kids or grandchildren on your Christmas list.

"When you shop small they feel the power of your dollar a lot more than the big box stores. Those dollars are more likely to stay in our local economy, and these same small businesses are the ones that we go to for sponsorship's to provide events like this so the least we can do is shop local," Lindsey Smoot, Executive Director of the Lisbon Chamber of Commerce said.

The shop and special ice skating rink put smiles on kids and parents faces.

Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson, and Small Businesses Reflections of Time Photography and some others helped sponsor the event which provided free hot chocolate.

The main sponsor Geronimo Supply donated generously so families and kids could make memories that last a lifetime for free at the ice skating rink.

"There's not a lot for kids in our area to do so having a free skating rink coming in and having vendors and supporting our local businesses is something I believe in a lot," Marcella Adams owner of Geronimo Supply said.

There were food trucks and the owner of  Movin and Groovin productions, a small business owner from East Liverpool, was hired to bring the ice skating rink here.

"We are a party rental event production company so we brought our synthetic ice skating rink, so it's an ice-less ice skating rink and we can use it inside, outside, all year around, and at Christmas in July events. We just like putting smiles on kids faces," Anthony Bailey owner of Movin and Groovin Productions said.

Since the holidays are about giving the Lisbon Chamber of Commerce says the best gift you can give to small businesses who support their communities is to support the small business owners during the holidays and year around.
