Friday's Mega Millions drawing did not have a winner, and that means the jackpot is growing.

The new jackpot jumped to $565 million ($293.6 million cash) after no one matched all six numbers.

The jackpot has been growing since October 14, when tickets sold in California and Florida shared a $502 million prize.

There have been 20 drawings since the $502 million jackpot and more than 15 million winning tickets of all different prize levels, but no one has hit the full jackpot.

Mega Millions records show this is one of the biggest prizes in its history.

The December 27 drawing will be for the sixth highest prize in Mega Millions history and the highest since July 2022 when a person in Illinois hit for $1.337 billion.
