NEW CASTLE, Pa. - New Castle fire crews received two calls to the same house just hours apart from one another for a house on fire.
The home is located at the 300 Block of Wallace Avenue. Fire crews say the first fire started at 7:15 p.m. Three adults and two children escaped unharmed.
Crews say the family was cooking jalapeno poppers on a stove, but stepped away for a few minutes and came back to find the kitchen on fire.
Crews went on to say the fire traveled to the second floor which suffered significant damage, with the rest of the house also receiving smoke and water damage. The scene was cleared shortly after 9:00 p.m.
New Castle Assistant Fire Chief, Tom Bulisco tells 21 News crews were called back to the same house two hours later for another fire.
Bulisco says the second and third floors were on fire and the fire was going through the roof. No one was home during the second fire, so there were no injuries.
The home is a total loss, but the Red Cross was called to assist the victims.
The cause of the second fire is currently under investigation.
