East Liverpool nurse accused of stealing painkillers enters not guilty plea

An East Liverpool nurse accused of stealing painkillers from two residents of a Boardman nursing home has pled not guilty to her charges in court Tuesday morning.
Forty-five-year-old Vanessa Schreffler filed a waiver of arraignment and pled not guilty to charges of theft of drugs, illegal processing of drug documents and aggravated drug possession.
These charges stem from an incident in August of 2022, when a supervisor at Park Center Healthcare and Rehabilitation noticed that four Oxycodone pills and one Pregabalin pill were missing from a patient.
According to a police report a drug test found the presence of the painkillers in Shreffler's urine.
Schreffler's trial is set to begin on March 27 at 8:30 a.m. in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas.
