'Move over or get pulled over' is the law and also the campaign slogan that's repeated every so often as a reminder for people to be aware of emergency vehicles on the side of the road.

State Troopers say the Valley, mainly Mahoning County, is second in the state for citations involving those not moving over for a public safety vehicles.

Sergeant Ray Santiago says 15 traffic tickets were issued last Friday to drivers in Trumbull County after failing to switch lanes while passing by parked service vehicles.

Santiago says darting past these cars at high speeds could end in injuries or fatalities. Penalties for violating the law include court costs and fines are doubled.

A first time offender could face a $300 fine, while second time offenders can expect a $400 ticket for the offense.
