WASHINGTON - A brand of baby formula has been recalled after possible cross-contamination with bacteria.

According to the release, Reckitt voluntarily recalled two batches of Prosobee 12.9 oz Simply Plant-Based Infant Formula due to potential cross-contamination with Cronobacter sakazakii.

Cronobacter bacteria can cause life-threatening infections like sepsis or meningitis.

The two batches of formula were made between August and September 2022 and were sold nationwide. They can be identified by the number on the bottom of the can.

The recalled batches are ZL2HZF and ZL2HZZ both with a UPC Code of 300871214415 and a “Use By Date” of “1 Mar 2024.”

No other ProSobee Simply Plant-Based Infant Formula batches or other Reckitt products are impacted.

In total, about 145,000 cans are included in the recall.

No illnesses have been reported.
