Chaney school to present dance program honoring Black History Month Thursday
The free event is open to the public.

A Black History Month dance will be presented Thursday, February 23 at Chaney Middle School, 731 S Hazelwood Ave., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The school is presenting 'The Evolution,' which will celebrate Black History through dance, showcasing a time capsule of performance through the ages.
More than 70 students in grades 6 through 8 will pay tribute to artists over the decade, highlighting how music has evolved but also paying tribute to ancestral roots.
The production looks at slavery, women's empowerment, and music history. Joining students will be dancers from The MAC Experience and Solesque Studio.
Doors open for The Evolution at 5:45 p.m. The free event is open to the public.
