Another Norfolk Southern train derails in Alabama same day as CEO's Senate testimony

Just hours before Norfolk Southern CEO Alan Shaw was set to testify before members of the U.S. Senate, yet another Norfolk Southern train derailed, this time in Alabama.
According to a post on the Calhoun County EMA's Facebook page, shortly before 7:00 a.m. Thursday, another Norfolk Southern train derailed in White Plains, Alabama.
Initial reports indicate that 30 train cars derailed. There are no reported injuries or hazardous materials in the air. No roads have been blocked due to the derailment.
At this time, the Calhoun County EMA reports no danger to the public as a result of this derailment.
According to NBC News, an agency spokesperson says Norfolk Southern is working closely with the Calhoun County EMA and that Norfolk Southern has a cleanup crew on site.
This is the third Norfolk Southern derailment within the past month.
