A collaboration between Foxconn and Califonia-based company Monarch Tractor is bringing new all-electric tractors to the Valley.
 
"It's really going to change farming for everybody by bringing it into the digital era," said Mark Schwager, President and Co-founder of Monarch Tractor. "It's an all-electric product, it's driver optional and the data insights that you can pick up off this tractor are revolutionary for farmers," Shwager said.
 
The tractor can be controlled by an app that would essentially do the job For the farmer with Precision operations.
 
"The production started two weeks ago," said Rick Rajaie EV Operation VP for Foxconn U.S. "So these tractors were in the line about two weeks ago about 5 days ahead of the schedule," Rajaie said
 
Besides the Monarch tractor, Foxconn is also the driving force behind several other projects, including the production of the all-electric vehicle, the Pear, and the first INDI One prototype vehicle. 
 
It's also behind the production of the all-electric truck, the Endurance, and 500 of those trucks were shipped out just last fall and have since had two recalls.
 
Also in the fall, Foxconn announced the production of electric vehicle batteries at the Lordstown plant.
 
Only five tractors were produced at Foxconn and they tell 21 News, THERE ARE THOUSANDS more expected to follow.
 
As for a timetable for the other vehicles being built here, Foxconn has not released a definite date but says it would be soon.
