Man charged with threatening Grove City woman who got his old phone number

GROVE CITY, Pa. - If you ever got a new mobile phone number that once belonged to someone else, you may have experienced some bother receiving calls and texts from the number’s previous owner.
However, for a Greenville woman, getting a new cell phone number turned into more than a mild inconvenience.
According to Police, a Grove City woman said she received a text on March 28 from someone claiming to be the previous holder of her phone number asking about information she may be receiving on her phone that was meant for him.
The woman told the investigating officer that the caller was polite at first and she tried to cooperate with him.
However, over the next four days, the woman says the calls and texts became demeaning and rude. According to a criminal complaint, the caller threatened her and her children even after she asked him to stop calling.
Even as the officer was taking the woman’s statement, police say the caller rang her phone.
The woman told police she contacted them because she feared he would find her and harm her.
After investigating, Grove City Police filed four charges against Justice Lavarus Alexander Clark, 22, of New Castle including Terroristic Threats, Stalking, and Harassment.
A court hearing in the case is scheduled for later this month.
