Niles Police charge man with violating strangulation law

NILES, Ohio - Niles Police have charged a man with violating Ohio’s recently enacted strangulation law.
Anthony Massucci, 36, was arrested at his home in Niles after police investigated a complaint filed by a woman claiming to have argued with Massucci after telling him that she wanted “space” and asked him to leave her house.
According to the police report, the woman alleges that Massucci wrapped his leg around her neck in a choke hold, then pushed her into an over and slammed her to the floor.
Massucci, who according to the police report is from Texas, was booked into the county jail awaiting a video arraignment on Ohio’s strangulation law which went into effect in April.
