A part of America’s aviation history is touching down in the Valley in July, offering flights and tours.

A vintage, 1928 Ford Tri-Motor will be at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna from Thursday, July 13, 2023, through Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Continuous flights are available for $65-$95 Thursday from 2-5 pm, and Friday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 p.m.

The Experimental Aircraft Association’s Tri-Motor, known as the world’s first mass-produced airliner, flew its first flight on December 1, 1928.

It inaugurated westbound transcontinental commercial air service on July 7, 1929.

Called the “Tin Goose” by some the three-engine plane was restored in the early 1970s and was eventually acquired by its present owner, the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton, Ohio.

The museum is working with EAA to showcase the historic aircraft around the country.

Those wishing to take part in the tour should check-in with the crew on site as early as possible on the day they wish to fly.
