New 106,000 square foot manufacturing building under construction Champion Township

CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - Champion Township can expect to see some new manufacturing jobs within the next year, as a 106,000 square foot manufacturing building is on its way to the towsnhip.
Champion Trustee, Rex Fee tells 21 News that the building, purchased by Warren-based manufacturer, Bral Corporation is expected to generate 30 manufacturing jobs.
These new workers will be making rear doors for delivery trucks, as well as materials for the railroad industry.
Fee says the building is located on Research Parkway, just off of Educational Highway where schools like Kent State University Trumbull and the Trumbull County Career and Technical Center are.
Fee tells us trustees have spoken with the company and worked out a plan to minimize this project's impact on students' commutes to school during this time. We're told signs will be posted guiding truck drivers on a route that would disrupt that commute as little as possible.
The building was originally owned by automotive company, Aptiv, but has been vacant for many years. Fee tells us he's excited for this project's completion because it's been quite some time since Champion has had a business of this size move into the community.
Fee says he doesn't know exactly when construction will be done, but based on the current workflow, he expects it to be done by early 2024.
Trustee, William Templeton says he's excited for this new development and that the township is welcoming the Bral Corporation in with open arms.
"It's been a long time coming, but Champion is open for business," Templeton said.
