YOUNGSTOWN - It’s time again for property owners in Mahoning County to open their purses and wallets to help keep their local government running.

Mahoning County Treasurer Dan Yemma has announced that property owners have started receiving their second-half real estate tax bills in the mail.  Final bills for taxpayers who are on the Tax Installment Program have been mailed as well.

The deadline to pay without penalty is Friday, August 4.  Property owners who do not receive statements by Friday July 28 should check the website or call the Treasurer's Office at (330) 740-2460 to confirm payment amounts or request copies of bills, Yemma explains.

Bills for all taxpayers may also be viewed online at the website  http://mahoningcountyoh.gov. The back of each bill has more information on electronic payments.

In addition to credit cards and electronic checks, options for paying electronically include Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Venmo online, by text, and by phone.

Taxpayers may also schedule and set up automatic payments.  However, there are transaction fees charged by the county’s third-party vendor.  Taxpayers who wish to receive their bill electronically via email can do so.  Information is available on the treasurer’s website and on the back of each bill for details on electronic billing and payment resolutions.

The Treasurer’s office is open for normal business from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.  Payments should be sent to the Treasurer's Office Attn: Daniel R. Yemma at 120 Market St., Youngstown, OH  44503.  All payments postmarked on or before the August 4 deadline will be processed as on-time payments.
