Farrell Fire Department to purchase new gear with FEMA grant funds

The Farrell Fire Department will soon be the proud owners of 10 new Self Contained Breathing Apparatuses courtesy of FEMA grant funds, Chief Mike Renner announced via Facebook Saturday afternoon.
The new equipment will be purchased in partnership with the Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department, who received $600,000 from FEMA.
The SCBAs, costing about $100,000, will come complete with an air pack, spare bottle, and mask, allowing firefighters to fight fires and help citizens in smoke-filled environments.
Chief Renner also said the following of the equipment and grant aid:
"This is a crucial purchase and award to keep our firefighters protected with the newest and best equipment possible. Thank you to the Hermitage, Patagonia, Sharpsville, and Wheatland Fire Departments for allowing us to share this grant with you and your communities."
