NBC News is reporting that two U.S. hostages have been released by Hamas on Friday.

According to a report from CBS News, the hostages are a mother and daughter.

NBC News has identified the mother and daughter as Judith and Natalie Raanan. According to NBC, the two fell into the clutches of Hamas after the militants launched a surprise attack on Israel.

According to NBC News, the two had been staying on a kibbutz called Nahal Oz in Southern Isreal.
