H.S. Football: Mineral Ridge vs. Mogadore preview

The Mineral Ridge football team plays Mogadore in the Division VI Regional Semifinals Friday.
The two teams meet up at Sebo Stadium in Salem at 7 p.m.
The Rams (8-4) have won three straight games and advanced to the third round of the playoffs for the first time in program history.
"It's special, I don't think Ridge has ever been in round three of the playoffs so the community is really rallying around us," said Ian Erb, Rams running back and wide receiver.
Mineral Ridge is playing confident coming off a big win over Rootstown last Friday, but Mogadore will be a tough task this week.
The Wildcats (9-2) are on a five-game winning streak. They've held their opponents to an average of four points a game during that span.
"It's a great opportunity for us to play a team like that," said Brian Shaner, Rams head football coach.
"We're gonna give them everything we can on Friday night, you know our kids are gonna play them really hard," Shaner added.
"They're good in every aspect, they're big up front, they have skill," said Erb.
"They've been here before and we haven't so I think we're pretty hungry and we wanna know what it feels like," Erb added.
The last time Mineral Ridge played Mogadore was back in 2009 with the Wildcats getting the win.
