Wellsville native sentenced to additional six years in prison for drug trafficking incident near school

A Wellsville native will be facing an additional six years in prison for a drug trafficking incident that occurred near a school.
According to a post on the Columbiana County Prosecutor's Office's Facebook page, 37-year-old Dennis Byers, formerly of Wellsville was given six additional years in prison after being convicted of two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs.
Prosecutors say these offenses were committed in a home right across the street from a school where juveniles were present.
These six years will run consecutively with the 11 years Byers received earlier in the year bringing his total prison time to 17 years.
County Prosecutor, Vito Abruzzino thanked the Columbiana County Drug Task Force and his staff for their role in the investigation and successful prosecution in this case.
