The YSU football team did their part to enhance their playoff chances by beating Murray State 34-17. The Penguins got on the board first when Mitch Davidson's pass connected with Cole Sechrest for the score. This was the first career touchdown for Sechrest coming in a big game for YSU.

Murray State held a 10-7 lead in the second, but YSU scored two more times in the quarter to reclaim the lead. A three yard rushing touchdown by Dra Rushton in the third quarter made it 27-10 Penguins. Mitch Davidson connected with Bryce Oliver for the score to put this game away. Oliver caught his 25th touchdown of his career as a Penguin, which tied the schools record.

The Penguins get the job done winning 34-17 over the Murray State Racers. YSU will now wait for the selection show to see if they make it into the playoffs. The selection show is at 12:30pm tomorrow.
